TLC Cleaning has always been a family-oriented company. Today, that’s even more true as I use the lessons I’ve learned as a business owner to tutor my daughter, Taylor, as she runs her own business, Mainstream Boutique Fargo.

Mainstream Boutique Fargo is now owned by Trisha Lake and Taylor BraccoNearly 15 years ago, as a single mom, I started a small cleaning company called TLC Cleaning, determined to create a life for my family. Taylor, grew up watching every step of that journey — tagging along to late-night cleanings, helping fold towels, and learning what it means to hustle for your dreams.

Taylor wasn’t just along for the ride; she was part of the foundation. From washing microfibers after school to saving for her first trampoline and iPod, she grew up learning the value of hard work and independence.

Mainstream Boutique Fargo owner Taylor started learning business from her mother

Now, as a young adult, she’s standing beside me, not just as my daughter but as my partner, taking the lessons from TLC Cleaning and helping us build something new and beautiful.

About a year ago, Taylor approached me about a sales opportunity. She’d been doing well selling clothing on Facebook Marketplace and wanted a small loan to purchase some name-brand jeans. We struck a deal, and she made the purchase. Not only did she sell the jeans and pay me back, she made a $2,000 profit!

Right around that time, Mainstream Boutique Fargo was looking for a new owner. With my business experience and Taylor’s love of fashion, we decided to jump in with both feet and do this together. I’ve learned a lot through my successes and failures, and now I can guide my daughter as she navigates being a business owner.

Today, Taylor is thriving as the manager of day-to-day operations of the boutique while I help with marketing and business development guidance.

This boutique is a new chapter for our family – a way to spend more time together while continuing to grow and learn. It’s not just about selling clothes; it’s about showing Taylor what it takes to love what you do, serve your community, and build something meaningful. Together, we’ve doubled the inventory, launched a website, and brought in fun, trendy styles.

Just like the story of TLC Cleaning, our journey here is about connection, love, and creating a space where every woman feels confident, empowered, and celebrated.

Thank you for supporting our family’s dreams over the years and allowing us to be part of your lives. Whether it’s clean homes or stylish wardrobes, we’re so grateful to keep serving this amazing community. I would be delighted to see you stop by the boutique at 4600 32nd Ave. S. in Fargo to show Taylor your support.
